I am a full-time working mother who has been breastfeeding my daughter since July 2012. I bought my first hospital grade Unimom Forte# breast pump before my daughter was born. I did a lot of research online (even reading reviews in other countries) before I made my choice.
I started breastfeeding my daughter soon after her birth, but she had an undetected tongue tie that was not fixed until she was nine week old. As a result, I suffered from nipple trauma and during the early days, I chose to use my breast pump to express milk for her while I let my wounds heal. To complicate matters, I suffered from postpartum anxiety, and also have polycystic ovarian syndrome and many who have the (latter) condition are unable to produce enough breastmilk for their babies and give up soon after. When the midwives and lactation consultants knew of my decision, they were genuinely concerned about my ability to continue breastfeeding my daughter.
After returning home from the hospital, I started to occasionally breastfeed and would express regularly using my Unimom Forte#. In a short span of time, I managed to increase my supply and ended up with such a huge oversupply that two lactation consultants made recommendations on reducing my milk supply (what an irony). At the peak, I was able to express two full bottles in under two minutes!
As a customer of Unimom, I fell in love with the high quality and affordability of the products and have been a strong advocate of the brand. Without my breast pumps (I had bought two Forte#s and one Allegro# - one for work which I share with my colleague, one for home, and one for travel), I would not have been able to continue my breastfeeding journey for such a long time. People have said that I am remarkable, working full-time and still have the ability to breastfeed my toddler, but what is truly remarkable is the Unimom breast pumps and how efficient and effective they are at extracting milk from the breasts. I have introduced Unimom breast pumps to many friends and colleagues, who are now advocates themselves. Then around mid-2014, when the opportunity presented itself, I decided to become a distributor and I am very happy to be able to help more breastfeeding mothers discover Unimom.
